Serene Luxury: A Holiday Apartment in Bergen aan Zee

This luxurious holiday apartment, located among the dunes in Bergen aan Zee, was thoughtfully designed by Christopher Cardenas. The clients wanted a place that exudes peace and relaxation, matching the unique location by the beach. From the first conversation, Christopher knew he wanted to create a serene atmosphere, inspired by the surrounding dunes.

The living room, which overlooks the dunes, is furnished with a comfortable Minotti sofa, which the clients had previously discovered in the Co van der Horst showroom. The armchairs and dining chairs from Molteni&C blend seamlessly with the soft color palette of sand and natural tones. The custom-made dining table from Van Rossum fits perfectly into the limited space and provides a place for the family to gather. The wool rug from Cunera provides a warm base, while the clean lines of the Metaform console tables and nightstands give the whole space a modern look.

Lighting plays a crucial role in creating the right ambiance in the apartment. Floor lamps from Lumina and Catellani & Smith cast a soft light reminiscent of the waves illuminating the beach at sunset. The chandelier by Lee Broom and the table lamp on the console from Porta Romana add a touch of elegance to the space. In the bedroom, the curtains from JAB, Rubelli, and Luxaflex ensure privacy and comfort, while the bathroom and bedroom are illuminated with fixtures from Vibia and Wever & Ducré.

The interior design is a blend of luxury and natural simplicity, with Christopher carefully selecting materials that match the environment. The interior is enriched with a mix of leather, wood, wool, and natural stone, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The neutral tones, such as cream, taupe, and beige, ensure that the apartment harmonizes with the surroundings, while the addition of subtle color accents gives the space a contemporary twist.

With his design, Christopher has created a space where the clients can unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The result is an interior that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional, with a clear focus on creating a homely atmosphere. The close collaboration with the clients and attention to their wishes has resulted in a space that feels like a serene holiday home, perfectly balanced with the natural surroundings of Bergen aan Zee.
